    Attorney General Jim Hood, in a news release, said 24-year-old Maurice Davis, of Natchez, entered an open plea to manslaughter Tuesday before Judge Forrest Johnson in Adams County Circuit Court. An open plea means that a defendant refuses to accept the state's recommendation and instead throws himself upon the mercy of the court.

First responders were called the crash at about 6:30 a.m. on US 27 near W 900 N. Police told NewsChannel 15 the garbage truck was driving the wrong-way on US 27 North when the crash happened.
