    Moffett Wednesday addressed the House of Representatives Committee on Energy and Commerce and explained that the cable industry has historically benefitted from being able to offer two services through one infrastructure and therefore at a relatively lower cost each. But, citing the American Cable Association, he said "absent reforms to restrain the runaway growth in programming costs, video will become unprofitable and broadband will be left to carry the entire burden of incremental deployment."

    Mediacom 's CEO Rocco Commission couldn't have picked a better day to petition the FCC to rein in broadcasters' retransmission consent price hike demands - as he also blasted Chairman Tom Wheeler for "refusing to get involved at the very time when consumers most need your help." As fate would have it, Mediacom launched its campaign the same day research firm SNL Kagan updated and increased its retransmission consent forecast: It expects station owners to collect $10.3 billion in 2021, up from $6.3 billion this year.

In a letter to FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler, Commisso lamented the Commission's inaction as retransmission fees inflate, including another $3 billion per year increase during Wheeler's tenure as chairman.

Bright House Networks, which has a large customer base in Central Florida and Tampa Bay, posted a ACSI score of 65. Only Charter Communications, Comcast, ACSI newcomer Mediacom Communications and Time Warner Cable posted lower scores.
