The arena's property-tax abatement ends Dec. 31. The impending tax bill wasn't publicly discussed when the arena's private owners, Nationwide and the then-owner of The Columbus Dispatch, the Dispatch Printing Co., sold the arena to the Franklin County Convention Facilities Authority in 2012.
