    The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference announced today that Southwest Minnesota State University freshman forward, Caleigh Rodning, has been named to the NSIC All-Freshman team for the 2016-17 women's basketball season. Rodning, a native of Shakopee, Minn., finished the year ranked ninth in the NSIC in scoring with 15.0 ppg and fourth in the NSIC in rebounding with 8.3 rpg during conference play.

Bruggeman, a 6-foot, 177-pound native of Pelican Rapids, Minn., has helped lead SMSU to 23 victories and earn the program's first-ever NSIC South Division championship.
