  1. Thin-Film Coating Boosts Lithium-Ion Battery PerformanceRead the original story

    May 18, 2016 | Design News

A thin-film coating developed by researchers at the Missouri University of Science and Technology is one of the latest efforts to boost the performance of lithium-ion batteries. A team led by Dr. Xinhua Liang, assistant professor of chemical and biochemical engineering, has developed a process of simultaneously 'doping' -- or adding an element or compound into a crystalline structure -- and coating lithium magnesium nickel oxygen with iron oxide using an atomic layer deposition technique.
