Holmes is the 2016 female recipient of the Jack Moss Scholarship, a $1,000 grant awarded to two high school seniors in the Kalamazoo area who plan to attend Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo College or Kalamazoo Valley Community College.

    After winning the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association tournament championship less than a week ago, the Kalamazoo College baseball team played its first NCAA Regional game in program history against Concordia University of Illinois. Concordia jumped out to an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first but Kalamazoo picked up starting pitcher Aaron Schwark in the top of the third.
