    An eight-hour manhunt for three inmates who escaped from a Dorchester County jail early Friday was called off Saturday night due to the darkness and rough terrain. Earlier in the day, police said the inmates were contained in an area that stretches from the back of the Hamlets to Charleston Southern University and on to Interstate 26. Police say will continue monitoring the area lightly, but that there are no plans to resume a full-fledged search on Sunday.
