    LANCASTER – Atlantic Union College's efforts to relaunch after a four-year closure took a blow this month when one of its sponsors opted to end its annual subsidy to the school. In a letter to pastors and teachers, David Dennis, president of the Southern New England Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, said the conference's executive committee voted April 9 to withdraw its monthly support to the college, which amounts to approximately $800,000 per year, as of July 31. The decision could be a costly one for Atlantic Union College, which is trying to re-establish itself after closing in 2011 because of financial hardships.
