    Lake County authorities have identified the man killed in Wednesday's police-involved shooting in Zion as 38-year-old Charles J. Hollstein. Hollstein, of the 2900 block of Willow Lane, was wearing a homemade tactical-style vest and carrying an Airsoft BB gun when he was fatally shot after leading police on a chase that ended in a struggle in an alley, according to Zion police and the Lake County Major Crime Task Force.

    A Lindenhurst teen facing weapons charges related to the police-involved fatal shooting of Waukegan 17-year-old Justus Howell was remanded to Lake County Jail without bond Wednesday after allegedly violating conditions of his release. Tramond Peet, who is charged with two counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, allegedly told police he tried to sell a semi-automatic pistol to Howell on April 4 before a Zion police officer responded and shot Howell while he was running with that gun, according to authorities.
