    Criminal investigation agents with the Texas Department of Public Safety arrested a 59-year-old Zavalla woman on a state-jail felony theft charge in connection to allegations that she stole funds from the City of Joaquin for her own personal use. According to a DPS press release, the arrest was the result of an ongoing investigation by the Texas Rangers that was started in November 2015 at the request of the Shelby County District Attorney's Office.

Sitze is currently being held in the Angelina County Jail on a second-degree felony bond surrender for possession of a controlled substance between 4 and 200 grams charge, a second-degree felony unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon charge, a third-degree felony parole violation for an assault charge, a state-jail felony forgery of a financial instrument charge, and two misdemeanor charges.
