    When Chris Coon was 11, he discovered a love for comedy and improvisation by watching the TV show "Whose Line is it, Anyway?" That was just the beginning for the 31-year-old Yucaipa resident, who is one of the busiest actors in the Inland region. Coon is coming off a run as Caliban in the Courtyard Shakespeare Festival production of "The Tempest," from which he headed directly into rehearsals for the New Threads Theatre Company's "All in the Timing," which opens at The Box in downtown Riverside on Friday, July 13. The very next weekend, he will appear in the Queen musical "We Will Rock You" at San Bernardino's California Theatre.

    Three Southern California families have either filed or plan to file lawsuits against school districts from Los Angeles to the Inland Empire for negligence in allegedly failing to stop bullying that has led their three 13-year-old daughters to either attempt or commit suicide. The parents of Rosalie Avila, 13, of Yucaipa , who hanged herself in December; the mother of another middle school student who attempted suicide by overdosing on Oxybutynin pills; and the grandmother of a seventh-grader who attempted suicide by swallowing a cup of bleach, attended a news conference Tuesday, May 15, outside Los Angeles Unified School District headquarters.
