    Youngsville's chance at back-to-back Region 3 wins fell apart in the second half as the Eagles were held to just six points in the final two quarters in a 38-18 loss to Erie First Christian on Tuesday. The Eagles led Erie First after one quarter and went into the locker room down three, but still well within striking distance of one of the top Class A programs in District 10. Oliwer Topolski scored all of his game-high 10 points in the second half while his Erie First teammates cranked up the defensive pressure on the other end.

    Sentences were handed down on 16 other defendants in Warren County sentence court proceedings Friday before President Judge Maureen Skerda. Clifford C. Adams, of Youngsville, was sentenced to 12 to 24 months in a state correctional institution; a $2,000 fine; $425 in fees; and psychiatric and psychological evaluations for recklessly endangering another person; six to 12 months, to be served consecutively with the previous count, with credit for 119 days served, for criminal mischief; a $25 fine and $45 fee for meet vehicle proceeding in opposite direction; and a $25 fine and $45 fee for reckless driving.
