According to Ralph Escalona, athletic director for the Victoria school district, 6,028 tickets were sold for the game, and it's likely more than 7,000 people were in the stands on the day after Thanksgiving.

Hopkins carried 25 times for 312 yards and scored five touchdowns as Cuero improved to 10-2 and moved into the regional round against DeWitt County rival Yoakum, a 44-27 winner over Devine.
