    A 67-year-old man fought with people trying to stop him from drunken driving in Yamhill the night after Thanksgiving, shot in the neck a stranger who tried to intervene and apparently also shot himself inadvertently before a county deputy arrived, authorities said. Richard Mershon of Yamhill was released Monday from a hospital and booked into jail on suspicion of attempted murder, first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, menacing and harassment, according to the Yamhill County Sheriff's Office.
