    Christopher Dean Woolwine, 29, of Christiansburg has been charged with Second Degree Homicide resulting from a traffic crash that occurred on Halloween night in Carroll County. Woolwine was the operator of a 2000 Dodge van that was traveling north on Highway 52, near Lancaster Drive in the Cana section of the county, just north of the North Carolina state line.

    According to Virginia State Police Senior Trooper R.D. Horton, the accidents began at 6:53 p.m. on U.S. 52 in Cana, one-tenth of a mile south of Route 981 . Horton said Christoper Woolwine, 29, of Christiansburg, was traveling northbound on U.S. 52 in a 2000 Dodge Van when he came up on a 2001 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Brian Warren, 48, of Mount Airy, N.C. Horton said Warren was also traveling north on U.S. 52 and was slowing down to turn into the Cana Rescue Squad building when Woolwine's van rear-ended Warren's pickup truck, causing the pickup to go off road and the van to spin around.
