    Refugio resident Rene Jaso, 38, died in a one-car rollover Monday at 10:56 p.m., according to Refugio Police Chief Andy Lopez Jr. A man with the same name and date of birth was implicated here in 2016 in an animal cruelty case involving a German shepherd. In August, the Beeville Police Department presented charges to the county attorney's office of animal cruelty, a Class A misdemeanor.
