    The company behind a proposed liquefied natural gas export terminal at the mouth of the Columbia River has abandoned the project, marking the death of Oregon's second LNG terminal project in a matter of weeks. The Oregon LNG company had been pushing since 2012 to build the terminal in Warrenton, a small town on Oregon's north coast, but had recently encountered obstacles in the permitting process.

    The body of a passenger whose plane crashed into the Columbia River near Astoria last week was recovered by divers on Monday, according to the Clatsop County Sheriff's Office. Irene Mustain, 63, of Woodland, Washington was found in the wreckage of the 1941 North American AT-6 plane after two dive attempts and hours of searching at the bottom of the river, said Clatsop County Sheriff Tom Bergin in a news release.

    Northbound Interstate 5 near Woodland, Washington remains closed because of a landslide, meaning truckers and commuters trying to get to Seattle or anywhere north of Woodland are stuck with only one option - taking U.S. 30 through Longview to reconnect with the freeway. Columbia County officials said Thursday they're seeing "dangerous congestion" on U.S. 30 off and on from Scappoose to the Lewis and Clark Bridge in Longview more than 30 miles away.
