On Tuesday night the Democratic Assemblyman, who represents the 4th District, met with several dozen people at the El Charro Restaurant in downtown Woodland as part of a “meet and greet.” Unfortunately for the visit, Main Street in front of the restaurant was vacant of traffic because roadway construction is under way just west of El Charro between Walnut and Elm streets with a detour sign set up one block south at College Street.

    Emergency personnel in Woodland came to the rescue of a construction worker who was injured Tuesday morning in an underground pipe. Woodland Fire Department Battalion Chief Rick Sander said firefighters were summoned shortly after 8:30 a.m. to the area of County Roads 117 and 22 - the construction site for the Woodland/Davis Clean Water Project - where the worker was injured at the bottom of a cofferdam 40 feet underground.

Playing at Winship Field in Yuba City, Yolo exploded for eight runs in the fourth inning, and held off Yuba-Sutter Post 705, 10-8.

    Emergency crews reportedly rescued a man who fell into a pit at a the construction site for the Woodland-Davis Clean Water Project near the Sacramento River Tuesday morning. A single worker, who has yet to be identified, was standing near the edge of the cofferdam when a metal object fell from about 25 feet above him, hitting the crew member in the back, according to Woodland Fire Department Battalion Chief Rick Sander.
