    Authorities have confirmed that one person has died in a crash involving two semis and a pickup on Highway 62/82 just north of Brownfield. Officials say 58-year-old Robert Melvin, of Lubbock, was driving a JP Liquid semi that was carrying propane.

    It started around 11:30 a.m. when a SWAT team from the Lubbock Sheriff's Office was called to deal with the report of an armed man at FM 1585 and CM 1240, just south of Wolfforth. They say Ramos tried to flee when authorities pulled up to the residence, but he was found on the property.

    The scheduled, controlled burn of a barn north of Ropesville caused a scare on Sunday afternoon when a caller reported an explosion and the fire spread to a well house on the property. Wolfforth and Smyer Volunteer Fire Departments were called to a scene in the 6800 block of Oxen Road when a resident near 1585 claimed to have heard an explosion.
