    Lubbock County Commissioners on Monday approved a resolution of support to designate the Outer Route as an actual state highway that is being proposed as Loop 88. Steve Warren, district engineer for TxDOT, told the commissioners court that they are working to get the Texas Transportation Commission to designate the Outer Route as a state highway, and are seeking resolutions of support from local governments. He said the city of Wolfforth has already passed such resolution, and is waiting to get it on the agenda for the Lubbock City Council.
