    A 91-year-old Arlington man died after he was struck by a car just after 11 a.m. Monday near the Arlington Restaurant & Diner on Massachusetts Avenue in East Arlington, according to Arlington Police . The man, whose name is being withheld until his family is notified, suffered very serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

    The hopes and dreams of the Cottage Park Race Committee Hut, which broke from its moorings in Winthrop and appeared to be determined to visit Ireland, were dashed upon Hull's Nantasket Beach on February 15. According the Cottage Park fleet secretary Linda Epstein, the hut, which was used to run races and store gear for the fleet, probably broke free at three or four in the morning during the storm when the wind shifted to the north. Epstein, a research scientist with a PhD as well as a sailor, wasn't sure if the force of the wind ripped the boards off the hut, or if the mooring chains sawed through the wood.

    A Middlesex grand jury indicted a Woburn man Thursday with charges that he possessed, and intended to distribute, child pornography, according to a press release from Attorney General Maura Healey's Office. Marlan Ray Barker, age 55, was arrested on January 29, 2014 when Massachusetts State Police executed a search warrant at his residence.
