Fenn, 17, of Winthrop with a felony count of fourth-degree grand larceny Thursday afternoon stemming from an investigation that took place the Wholesale Furniture store in Winthrop. Mr. Fenn, a former employee at the time, reportedly entered the store on April 16, took just over $1,000 and left.

    Massena-based state police charged Jon L. Larue, 24, of Winthrop with a forgery count of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument Wednesday night stemming from an investigation into a complaint filed with troopers April 28. Mr. Larue allegedly altered a prescription for suboxone issued by a physician in Floral Park in an effort to gain a refill when he presented the script at The Medicine Shoppe, Ogdensburg. He was arraigned by Brasher Town Justice John Burns and sent to the St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, with bail set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.

    A state appellate court has ruled that a six-year state prison sentence imposed on a Winthrop man for selling drugs and then violating conditions of a substance abuse rehabilitation program was not an excessive punishment. Michael K. LaBaff, 29, was sentenced to prison from St. Lawrence County Court in October 2012 after pleading guilty to third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.
