Angela Archibeque said during a phone interview Sunday she and her boyfriend Blas Sanchez, both Winslow natives, bought the motel for $190,000 in July after its longtime matriarch, Floranel Earl, died in February.

A lot of people thought for years the statue was of "Take It Easy" co-writers Glenn Frey or Jackson Browne, but that's not the case, as Adamson explained: "They wanted a 70's individual with the haircut not too long, not too short, blue jeans.

According to the Santa Fe New Mexican , Affeldt now owns the Legal Tender restaurant and saloon in the village of Lamy, New Mexico, less than 20 miles south of Santa Fe.

A book published last month on Amazon Kindle by Fred Shaw with the title "False Architect: The Mary Colter Hoax" maintains Colter never was trained as an architect and that she falsely claimed designs by others.
