    The State Fire Marshal's Office says a Wilton woman was arrested Friday afternoon on charges of arson and aggravated criminal mischief. Investigators say 38-year-old Angie Clark was arrested after she was released from MaineGeneral in Augusta and transported to the Franklin County Jail.

    Hammond Lumber , a Belgrade-based wood supplier, announced on Wednesday its acquisition of a 10-store construction supply chain located on coastal Maine. Hammond's purchase of EBS Building Supplies makes it Maine's largest lumber and building materials supplier in Maine and one of the largest indy LBM suppliers in the nation, said Mike Hammond, president and CEO of the family-owned company.

    The president of a Canadian-owned lumber mill that received shipments of timber cut from Maine public lands says he's unaware of the equipment fire that Gov. Paul LePage has used to justify diverting those shipments away from another company whose owners have been critical of the governor's stance on softwood lumber tariffs. Nicolas Fontaine, president of Fontaine Lumber, also says his mills never requested timber originally destined for mills owned by Jason and Chris Brochu, who last year engaged in a public dispute over the governor's efforts to repeal some tariffs on Canadian softwood.

    A murder trial is underway in Farmington for a Maine man charged with killing another man in a dispute over a drug debt. The lead prosecutor told jurors that 25-year-old Timothy Danforth of Wilton killed a man in June 2016 over a $200 bag of marijuana.
