    A Wilmington man was arrested in the late evening hours of Sunday, Aug. 30, after he shot and killed his dog - his response to his dog allegedly biting him on the finger. The investigation revealed that Slayton had placed the dog in a cage in the living room of his home, and then used a shotgun to fire three individual rounds into the dog's head.
