    The Jamestown-Scotland Ferry gained an extra passenger Wednesday morning, after a mother in labor gave birth shortly after 3 a.m. Jonathan and Kayla Cline, who live in Surry, arrived at the boat with her going into contractions. Jonathan alerted the crew that his wife was in labor, and the Williamsburg ferry sped across the James River to meet an ambulance on the other side to take them to the hospital.

Parents Kayla and Jonathan Cline say they were on the way to Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center from their home in Surry County when the baby couldn't wait to enter the world.
