    Despite protests from many local business owners, Williams City Council members unanimously approved a resolution to increase water and sewer rates for commercial and residential customers at their regular meeting June 11. The new rates for the City of Williams commercial users will double, and the rates for residential users will increase by .002 cents. The new rates will go into effect July 13. Currently, water rates are .005 cent per gallon for both residential and commercial users.
