Assemblyman Ian Calderon wrote the legislation to rename the portion of the 605 between the 5 Freeway and Obregon Street overcrossing as the “Officer Keith Boyer Memorial Highway.” Boyer was killed in a shootout while responding to a call of a traffic collision .
