    "Mr. Fireworks" Bob Suits, who has been in charge of the White Lake Area 4th of July Fireworks show for decades, says the fundraising is underway for this year's show. The more than half-hour pyrotechnics display over the northeast end of White Lake at dusk caps the Independence Day celebration in the Montague-Whitehall area which begins with a 10 a.m. parade through downtown Whitehall and Montague.

    It was a record-breaking year for the White Lake Area Sportsfishing Association's Kids Fishing Contest held last Saturday, June 10, at Goodrich Park in Whitehall, and with contestants fishing from shorelines along White Lake. Attendance was listed at 525 people, including 310 registered contestants from ages three to 16. Arconic employees assisted WLASA in weighing in the fish, and feeding the participants.
