Zherka, who has close ties to the leaders of the Westchester Independence Party, was indicted by a grand jury in White Plains on charges he submitted multiple false loan applications to banks, failed to file personal tax returns for over a decade, filed fraudulent business returns and tampered with witnesses, according to a press release from U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara.
