    The MBTA is canceling trains on the Fairmount and Lowell commuter rail lines and reporting delays on the Red Line, while drivers on the Southeast Expressway slowly make their way into Boston Thursday around 6:45 a.m. The T cited "mechanical problems" for canceling Fairmount Line Train 790 and Lowell Line Train 304, and pointed to track work as the cause for delays on the Red Line between the JFK stop in Dorchester and Quincy around 6:45 a.m. On the Expressway, speeds have dropped below 30 miles an hour and the journey from the Route 18 interchange in Weymouth on Route 3 and the South Boston ramps was taking 31 minutes around 6:45 a.m. Speeds north of Boston on Interstate 93 have dropped below 40 miles an hour, and drivers are spending 15 minutes to move from Stoneham to Somerville around 6:45 a.m., according to MassDOT's live traffic map.
