    As of Monday night two cases of viral Meningitis had been been confirmed in the Gulf County School System, but school officials believe there may be several more. Jim Norton, the Superintendent of Gulf County Schools said, "We've had a number of students who've been affected by it and hopefully it doesn't turn out positive in all of their cases, but we're going to approach it as though it does."

    For the first time in 21 years, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation commission has approved a bear hunt that will last for a week from October 24 through the 30. For the last few years, the FWC has been using cutting edge DNA analysis by gridding populated black bear areas with barbed wire to monitor the species population. "The easiest way to think about it is we are out there collecting hair snares," said an FWC official.
