The board also agreed with board member Bruce Downer that a paper trail be established as much as possible and as soon as possible regarding town efforts to clear Longley Loop of the clutter which has caused problems for town road crews as they try to plow and otherwise keep the road clear for traffic.

    On Thursday, Oct. 18, Monica Przyperhart, a biologist with the Agency of Natural Resources, came to Londonderry to speak with its Conservation and Planning commissions, as well those planning commissioners from Weston and Windham, about the impact that the law will have on their work - especially the updating of their Town Plans - and their communities. As they work Act 171 into their Town Plans, each town will be able to choose which "forest blocks" and connectors to include in their town plan based on state maps, local data and maintaining a balance between forest growth and resource protection.

    12 on the emerald ash borer, Weston Select Board member Charles Goodwin told the board on Wednesday that an organizing structure is needed to look at the most urgent questions in preparing for the arrival of the beetle. The first step, according to Goodwin, is to conduct an inventory of ash trees in town, including the size of trees, which trees are important to property owners and trees that threaten power lines.
