Sandoval, 22, was visiting a friend in Westminster on June 1 after being released early from an overnight police shift in Fort Morgan when a shooting incident occurred around 2:40 a.m. Sandoval was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, where he was pronounced dead shortly after 4 a.m. Sandoval was Fort Morgan's youngest officer and had joined the force in October 2016.
