    Around 2 p.m., the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force arrested David M. Marracino, 57,of 7758 Prospect Station Road on charges of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree criminal sale of a weapon as well as unlawful possession of marijuana. It is alleged that Marracino did possess and then sell an assault rifle to an undercover officer of the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force.

    The investigation was conducted by the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division and The Westfield Police Department. Through the investigation it was found that Christopher Weston, 25, of Jefferson Street and a 16-year-old youth poured gasoline inside a vehicle belonging to Weston and then placed the vehicle on the train tracks on around 4:30 a.m. July 22. This was done with the intent that a train would strike the vehicle and then set the vehicle on fire.

    A woman riding an ATV suffered a collision with the guard rail of the bridge located on Alleghany Road in Silver Creek Saturday night at around 8:30 p.m. A group of four-wheelers were enjoying a ride together when something happened leading to her striking the railing and ejecting from the vehicle. Following the incident, the woman was taken to Hanover Center Fire Hall, where she was then flown to ECMC to address serious, but reportedly non-life threatening injuries.
