The Chicago Tribune reports Divine Infant Jesus School in Westchester will close effective June 30. Divine Infant Jesus Parish and Divine Providence Parish will form one new parish with a single school on the campus of Divine Providence School in Westchester.

    A Westchester man has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for stealing merchandise from Cook County stores and returning it for credit in Lombard. Jason Hodges, 43, of the 700 block of Hull Avenue, was convicted by a DuPage County jury in May of four counts each of burglary and retail theft, two counts of identity theft and one count of theft.

    Bells were tolled at 3:06 p.m. Wednesday at Northern Illinois University, marking the 10th anniversary of a Valentine's Day campus shooting in which five students were killed just as news began breaking of another mass shooting at a school in Florida. Wreaths were laid on the DeKalb campus at the Peaceful Reflection Garden created outside Cole Hall, the site of the shooting in 2008.
