    A man who as an unlicensed 17-year-old driver ran a red light and crashed, causing the death of one of his passengers, has been convicted 14 years later at age 31. In 2001, Ismael Cardenas, of West Valley City, was driving a Honda Civic when he sped through a red light at the intersection of Creek Road and Highland Drive and was hit by a GMC Suburban, according to charging documents. Bonifacio Ubaldo Cabera, a passenger in the Honda, was pinned in the vehicle and died from his injuries.
