Jeremiah McElfresh, 41, of West Salem, was upgraded from critical to serious condition Sunday, according to a report from the Wooster Post of the State Highway Patrol.

    Police Chief Don Sims informed council last week that the department is eligible for three new radios compatible with the Multi-Agency Radio Communications System [MARCS] for its cruisers via the Wayne County Emergency Management Agency. The village would save "somewhere between $6,000 and $10,000," which would account for the costs of the radios, the programming and the installation, according to Sims.
