    On Tuesday August 4th officers from the West Liberty Police Department charged a 16-year old female for possession of drug paraphernalia while following up on a separate incident at her residence, 224 White St. in West Liberty. The female was found with several items used for smoking marijuana as well as a plastic straw with a white residue that the female admitted to using to ingest her father's pain medication.

    On that day, Boucher, a helicopter pilot from Manchester, New Hampshire was clearing brush using an aerial saw to clear a path for the Simon Kenton Bike Path between West Liberty and Bellefontaine. The MD500 helicopter piloted by Boucher was flying southbound approximately 100 feet off the ground when it lost control and crashed into a tree line along Township Road 188 just south of Township Road 190.

The West Liberty Police Department reports that Marisa Dunfee, 21, was driving a 2000 Honda Accord was traveling westbound on W. Baird St. in West Liberty and struck two parked vehicles before overturning.

    A former Logan County resident now living in Laramie, Wyoming was cited for operating a vehicle under the influence, Monday morning around 1:45. The Logan Country Sheriff's office reports that Jerrod E. Pooler, 43 was driving a 1986 Dodge pickup truck southbound on US route 68. A West Liberty police officer, who was driving behind him, noticed that Pooler was driving erratically and going left-of-center.

    Jeffery Carothers II, 30, of Bellefontaine, was sentenced to four years in prison, five years mandatory post release control, and a three-year driver's license suspension for possession of drugs. On September 4th, Carothers was arrested on felony drug warrants following a traffic stop near West Liberty around 7:15 p.m. Carothers was arrested on warrants for trafficking in heroin and possession of heroin, then lodged in the Logan County Jail.
