    After four brutally difficult hours and some surprising eliminations, only 10 spellers are left in the Scripps National Spelling Bee including one student from the Tippecanoe School Corporation. Scripps made some rule changes to make the competition more difficult; and it was evident in the first round Thursday morning, when 24 out of 45 spellers got their words wrong.

In order to achieve a Four Star ranking, a school must be in the top 25th percentile of schools in two ISTEP-based categories, must have earned the highest designation in the state's accountability system and be accredited by the DOE.
