    The city of Lafayette is suing ten opioid manufacturers and three distributors for their part in causing the opioid crisis in Tippecanoe County. In a statement to News 18, Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarski said, "I did not take the decision to enter into this lawsuit lightly, but the reality is this national crisis is draining our community's resources to educate its citizens, treat those who are facing this difficult addiction, and have sufficient law enforcement resources to stop the distribution and selling of opioids, and to arrest those who profit and are willing to help destroy the lives of our citizens.
