    Not too long ago, I stood on the track at Ken Strong Stadium in West Haven, trying very unsuccessfully to not freeze my "you-know-what" off, while watching the Warde girls' soccer team play Glastonbury for the Class LL championship. After 80 minutes of regulation and another 30 of overtime it was the Tomahawks, not the Mustangs, that captured the state championship plaque with a 2-1 double overtime victory.

    A West Haven councilman has pleaded guilty to a wire fraud charge, admitting he stole money from the bank where he was employed. Federal prosecutors say 37-year-old Stephen DeCrescenzo stole $106,000 from customer accounts at the JPMorgan Chase Bank in New Canaan between 2008 and 2011, and tried to hide the thefts by disguising them as cash withdrawals by customers.
