Joyce married Max Beechy in 1948 and together they moved to Southington in 1957 with his brother, Myron to build Forest Oaks Golf Course; there they made their home until 1965 when Max was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

    A sleepy driver is being blamed for a crash in West Farmington Wednesday morning that closed down a portion of State Route 88. Troopers said the driver of a Pontiac G6 was headed eastbound when he fell asleep at the wheel, crossing into the wesbound lane and hitting an ODOT plow truck head on. The driver of the Pontiac was not injured in the crash and the driver of the plow truck was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital with minor injuries.
