    I beg to differ with the assumption in the Times' July 15 editorial, "No one saw this lead threat to N.J's children," which cited the discovery of lead-contaminated car battery cases dumped at a West Deptford site where homes were subsequently built: Just like the earlier Kiddie Kollege disaster that the editorial also referenced, primary causes of such problems are lax state Department of Environmental Protection oversight of the recycling industry, lax oversight of so-called "residual waste" streams, and DEP promotion of redevelopment under the state's "Brownfields" policies.

    WOODBURY - Two people accused of making bomb threats to West Deptford High School in order to practice for a bank robbery have been indicted on charges of making terroristic threats and false public alarm in the case. Travis Stanback , 35, of Paulsboro, and Charmaine Stanback, 25 of East Greenwich, allegedly called a bomb threat to the school on March 17 in order to gauge emergency response, according to police.
