    GENEVA – No one was hurt Friday morning when a driver without functional brakes in his 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan drove into the front of an eastside Geneva liquor store, breaking the window, officials said. Jesal Patel, co-owner of Hammar's East Side Liquors , at 1439 E. State St., said the minivan crashed into the front of the store at 10:30 a.m., a half-hour after it opened, sending a shower of shattered glass everywhere.

CHARLES – The two men arrested after police foiled an apparent car burglary in St. Charles last month face additional felony charges stemming from other burglaries in the city, according to police and court records. Nicholas Michael Humbles, 20, of the 3N400 block of Oak Road, West Chicago, and Ryan M. Kitowski, 22, of the 200 block of North Bissell Drive, Palatine, were in custody at the Kane County jail when, on Feb. 18, they each were served a warrant carrying three counts of burglary, according to a St. Charles Police Department report.
