The US Geological Survey recorded a 1.9 and 2.0 magnitude quake 3 miles northwest of Weaverville and 9 miles north of Asheville just before 1 a.m. The USGS also reported Tuesday that a second quake was detected on Monday 10:44 a.m. That quake registered at 2.0 on the Richter scale.
