    Neither snow nor the cold temperatures stopped the Blind Hog Day Light Savings Throw Down Disc Golf Tournament which was held on Sunday, March 12. It took place at the Waynesville Recreation Center with 66 disc golfers from the Western North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, the Charlotte area, and Waynesville. These disc golfers, both pro and amateur, played two rounds of 18 holes.

    Tens of thousands of dollars' worth of football equipment and a utility trailer owned by the Waynesville Youth Football and Cheerleading Organization was stolen from the grounds of Jonathan Valley Elementary over the weekend, leaving the local youth football team without equipment to play. "Some person or several people drove onto the property of Jonathan Valley Elementary late Saturday night, hitched up our storage utility trailer and drove off with the storage utility trailer, which had all our equipment inside of it," said coaching coordinator and volunteer Mark McCracken.
