"On at approximately 11:50 a.m., a Waveland police officer was in the 1500 block of Margie Street in Waveland following up on recent reports of gunshots in the area at various times over the previous two weeks," according to a statement issued Thursday by Waveland Police Chief David Allen.

    The Sun Herald reports that 56-year-old Dr. Steve Morris III, 59-year-old Peggy Laporte and 29-year-old Brittany Spikes allegedly conspired to dispense controlled substances outside the scope of professional practice. Federal and local authorities raided Morris' internal medicine clinic, Total Health Solutions in Waveland, on Wednesday afternoon and took the three health care workers into custody.

Agents from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, the Hancock County Sheriff's Office, and Waveland Police Department were seen inside and in the parking lot of Total Health Solutions Wednesday evening.
