    An Indian Creek High School senior was pronounced dead at Northwestern Medicine Kishwaukee Hospital after a two-car crash Thursday night on Leland Road south of state Route 30, according to DeKalb County Sheriff's deputy Andy Sullivan. Joyce K. Farnsworth, 18, and her twin sister, Joanna N. Farnsworth, of the 100 block of West Kirke Gate in Lee, were leaving work at Hoka Turkey Farm, 8519 Leland Road, just before 7 p.m. when their maroon 2000 Honda Civic pulled out from the entrance in front of a southbound truck, Sullivan said.

    A 33-year-old Waterman woman was in serious condition Wednesday morning in a Rockford hospital after police say her UTV was hit by a minivan, knocking her off of it Tuesday afternoon just north of town. According to a news release, Amber N. Barshinger, of the 11500 block of Waterman Road, drove onto Waterman Road south of Miller Road, near her property, about 2 p.m. Tuesday on a John Deere 4-by-4 TRX Gator when a southbound 1998 Plymouth Voyager driven by Abigail Flores, 29, of the 400 block of South Elm Street in Waterman, was unable to stop and hit the UTV.
