    The Mohawk River has passed its preliminary checkup for sewage pollution and regular evaluations will become part of its future, thanks to the environmental group Riverkeeper and professors and student volunteers from the State University of New York at Cobleskill. This month, the two groups sampled water along 120 miles of the river, from Waterford in Saratoga County, to Delta Lake in Oneida County, marking the first coordinated effort to measure how sewage spills may be tainting the waterway.
